JUAN LUÍS JARDÍ
A mix of magical realism with certain influences of Pop Art and surrealism, Jardi's figures and themes illustrate the contrast in our lives and the doubts we are faced with as humans.
He strives for his work to provoke feelings: nostalgia, melancholy, loneliness and a sense of uneasiness as well as feelings of euphoria and calm. Jardi’s paintings offer a vintage perspective much like a trip into the past.
Jardí, who has exhibited internationally since 1983, has received numerous accolades, including three Medals of Honor from the prestigious BMW Painting Prize. His artwork is featured in the private collections of notable figures such as former Spanish monarchs King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofía, as well as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Fidel Castro, and Juan Antonio Samaranch, the former President of the International Olympic Committee.
Jardí lives and works in Barcelona, Spain
